    New for Fall 2005: Master of Science Program in Geography, with Concentration in Geographic Information Science, Department of Geography, Florida State University. Program Objectives: Students will learn how to describe, analyze, and communicate spatial patterns and processes, both in theory and in practice. The focus is on the understanding of GIS fundamentals and the applications of geographic information technologies (GIS, remote sensing, spatial statistics, and database management) to support environmental and sustainable management, urban and regional planning, socio-economic analysis, and among others. The master’s program will help meet the regional and local demand for professional designers, developers and managers of geospatial information technologies across a broad range of applications.
